Terrestrial halogens are F, Cl, Br and I. All may occur as monovalent anions or as polyions bonded to oxygen. Here I have not listed minerals in which the halogen is in solid solution with (OH)- as these are extensive and can be found in other sections (e.g., amphiboles, micas etc.). In the minerals listed here, the halogens are generally not in solid solution with (OH)- although they may be in solid solution with each other (e.g., Cl, Br in Hg minerals).
